The blog, written by aspiring author Rae Lavalle, consists of posts that build up a single story. The tale itself tells of a boy going through an epic adventure, but it is still too soon to see where the plot takes itself. While the writing is consistent and holds the reader's attention, I wish there were more details to convey an image.
What I found especially helpful is that new readers have the option to read the blog-book from the first post down, as opposed to having to find the original chapter. Rae also has a section of terminology for a better understanding of her story.
The design of the blog seems a bit on the dark, suspenseful side. In my opinion, the vivid red background may be a bit distracting.
As for any suggestions, I'd like to see the blog updated on a more consistent basis, as it will show dedication. Looking at the inconsistency of scattered posts, I am left unsure whether the author will actually finish this blog, especially since I am bookmarking this site and did not ask for email updates of new posts. |
Owner's reply
Thanks very much for the kind and honest review of my blog! I have edited my site so the background is more mellow, hopefully this makes it less distracting. And thanks also for bookmarking it, I hope you enjoy the story as is progresses. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions!

Just by reading the first few sentences, Gareth Davies, the blogger, certainly captures the readers' attention with his cheerful-yet-very-slightly-inappropriate humor in every post. His content tends to focus on an array of "newsworthy" stories that seems ridiculous in a quite hilarious manner. Gareth also adds a bit of his own life into the posts (such as his recent engagement) and I must admit I enjoyed reading it. The content is plentiful, and will continuously capture your attention. Gareth's blog also includes podcasts, which sound a lot like his posts; basically, still funny and still interesting. Since he updates his blog several times a month, readers can always be looking forward to some good reading.
The design of the blog is aesthetically pleasing. It's simple with a dash of image banner at the top and a splash of color among the background and the words. There are no excessive media that may slow down one's computer, and no ads to flash perpetually at the reader. Simply put, I like that.
The one bad point is that you can't comment on his posts. This may be because of the massive traffic that may be going to this blog; Gareth, after some Googling, (in a non-creepy way...I just wanted to see if he writes for a living, because he writes really well) is actually a journalist for a newspaper.
Other than the lack of comments and reader-interaction on the blog, there is not much Gareth misses for a good blog-reading experience |

This is a wonderful site with beautiful photographs and content, however; it should be updated more frequently to entice your readers to visit you on at least a weekly basis. Even just a short paragraph would help. |

This is a very well written blog with interesting content for women to identify with who still have children at home. I would certainly recommend this blog. |

I started looking at this site a couple of months ago and immediately noticed how frequently he posts....almost every day there`s something new. The topics are very wide but all connected with legal things. Each one is almost a short story; his style is good enough for a newspaper. Combine that with really good content and I put it right up there. But I am a bit surprised there`s not more comment... |

Regular updates at the very least weekly, but often every other day.
Excellent tutorial articles, even though some are a cosiderable length, they are not tiresome to read & the amount of detail & explanation is extremely helpful. |
| Bad Points |
None really, although I could not give a 5 for content, simply because this blog is only about 6 months old, in my opinion another 6 months worth of content will make this blog excellent ! |

It is not often that I am moved to write a review on anything (lazy I suppose), but I stumbled upon this site & then stumbled upon "My Blog Review" and I have to say I really am impressed. What content there is would be of great value to all bloggers whether noobs or veterans, although the owner does specify that the site is aimed at noobs. The design, layout & navigation are to my mind flawless! My only negative point is this blog is still very young and as such could really benefit from a lot more content.
If the owner of this blog maintains his current standard, then I think this is definately a blog that will make it's mark. |

Shauns blog has been running since 2005, only the most established and dedicated bloggers are still making posts over those timescales. The content is original and well written. The only thing letting this blog down is the blogger template, its far too narrow and results in a very long homepage. The vast majority of readers now have high resolution screens so a slightly wider template would make the blog much more readable. |

Fantastic blog, a combination of great writing and great subject matter make this blog a must. This is a long running blog that first started way back in 2005, its great to see that the author still makes regular posts.
The blog is hosted on Blogger and uses one of the standard templates, not that it matters when the content is so compelling. This is one blog that doesn't need fancy design!
All too often you read negative press about judges, take some time to read this blog and you will see the other side of the arguement. Most of the posts are based on real events (with the details changed just enough that the case can not be identified). The Magistrate (Bystander) gets to meet people from all levels of society, read this blog to get an insight into the often strange world of the mad and the bad. |
