Blog reviews are a great way to get feedback and ideas to improve your blog, we've put together a few tips and tricks to help you get the most reviews for your blog and get the best results from Rate My Blog.

Submitting a blog review

Anyone can submit a review of any blog (you will need to be logged in), this could be your favourite blog or if you want you can submit a review of your own blog. Regardless of whether the blog review is for your own blog or one of your favourites you should try to include descriptions of the following:

• Theme/Subject - what is the blog about?
• About the blogger - who writes the blog? What is their background?
• Is the blog 'real world' or fictional?
• Type - is it entertainment or information?
• Style - for example is the blog serious, humorous, pictures, movies clips etc
• Design - what's the appearance of the blog, for example is it clean and light or cluttered?
• Comments - are they allowed? Are there lots of regular comments being posted?
• Responsiveness - does the author reply to comments?
• Frequency - how often are the posts written, daily, weekly or maybe monthly?
• Technical stuff - what is the Google Page rank of the blog? What about the Alexa rating?
• Give your opinion - what do you think of the blog and why? You should be subjective but also reasoned
• Would you personally recommend the blog to your friends? Are you a regular reader?
• Content - is it original or is it derived from other content
• Advertising - many blogs publish some sort of advertising, is it subtle or over the top?
• Navigation - is it easy to find your way around the blog? Could you easily find the archives?
• Age - How old is the blog? If it's only a week old, will the blogger have the same enthusiasm for blogging in a months time?

If you are submitting a review of your favourite blog then you are helping readers to find the best blogs, this should give you that nice warm feeling inside knowing that you have helped both the readers and the author of the blog. Encourage others to write reviews

Encouraging other to write reviews of the blog will help in two ways, firstly it will move higher in the ranking for the blog with the most reviews and secondly (and more importantly) the blogger will get to see what the readers think of the blog!
